History

Transitional - this is a term often used to

describe Lucid lights. Transitional suggests that the designs and quality of finish

are evocative an earlier period than today and yet they are direct or modern in execution.

This means that Lucid lights can look well with most architecture, historic or contemporary - timeless.

You will not find traditional reproductions here but honest originals by architectural and industrial designer Robert Wallace.

Robert brings his studies in sculpture and architecture at RISD and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Technology from NYIT

and his experience in architectural and furniture design, construction and contracting to the field of lighting.

Lucid began with custom designing and fabricating lights for architectural projects in New York City.

In 1986 Lucid Lighting was founded to design, fabricate and market an ever expanding line of fixtures.

Lucid fixtures have been shipped to nearly every state in the US and many countries overseas; used in residential

as well as commercial and nautical applications. Quality of design and construction

is the driving ambition at Lucid. These unique designs are a favorite with many architects, designers, builders and

home owners across the country. Quite a number of designers and architects have ordered Lucid for their own homes and offices.

Lucid lights are hand crafted in the US; never mass produced or made overseas.

All the lights are proudly made

by local crafts people taking into account the unique needs of every installation.
